London immersive attraction FRAMELESS will add a new Michelangelo-inspired installation to its collection from 10 July, expanding its permanent visitor offering as the venue passes 1m visitors since opening.
The new experience, housed in FRAMELESS’ The World Around Us gallery, is based on Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, including The Creation of Adam, The Separation of Light from Darkness, God Separating Land from Seaand God Creating the Sun, Moon and Vegetation. The installation also incorporates works by other Italian Renaissance artists and uses 3D animation, sound design and an original score to reinterpret the artworks.
The addition brings FRAMELESS’ collection to 43 artworks by artists from 13 countries. The venue’s four galleries feature immersive interpretations of works by Monet, Van Gogh, Dalí, Canaletto and Rembrandt, among others.
Ryan ‘Woody’ Atwood, creative director of FRAMELESS, said: “Celebrated as one of the most impressive feats of art and design in history, the Sistine Chapel made for an exciting opportunity to interpret Michelangelo’s work as a new immersive journey through scale and storytelling. We brought together an incredible multidisciplinary creative team of curators, animators, visual artists, sound designers and composers to realise this spectacular addition to our Collection… Having welcomed over 1 million visitors through our doors since opening, we cannot wait for new and returning visitors to experience this new artwork.”
The launch comes as immersive attractions continue to invest in refreshed content to encourage repeat visits and extend dwell time, with operators increasingly treating permanent venues as evolving experiences rather than static exhibitions.
