Teams from Montgomery Group and Excel London are today walking 13 miles from Montgomery Group’s offices in Manchester Square to Excel London, raising funds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
The walk is being completed in memory of Lando and Rafferty Powell, the children of Montgomery Group’s group growth director Nick Powell and his wife Libby. The NICU at Southmead provides round-the-clock care for premature and seriously ill newborns across the South West, funded in part by charitable donations that go toward equipment, research and family support that the NHS cannot otherwise provide.
The walk is one of two challenges Nick is taking on this year. He will also attempt the Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours this July. Combined with a Memorial Day event at Corsham Rugby Club last year, the fundraising effort has so far raised over £61,000, with a target of £90,000.
