After welcoming the news of a relaxation to the social distancing measures, the chair of the Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP), Simon Hughes (pictured), has lamented what he says is a “shameful” oversight by the government in failing to specifically reference the events industry in today’s address by prime minister Boris Johnson.
Exhibition and conference centres have been told they are not allowed to reopen on 4 July, prompting the urgent need of a restart date.
