INTERGEO to move German venues under new ten-year agreement with geodesy association24th July 2026 | published by Paul Colston SHARE

DVW e.V., the German Association for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management, and Hamburg Messe und Congress have signed a ten-year agreement that will take effect in 2028, laying the groundwork for a long-term co-operation partnership to organise future INTERGEO events.

The new partnership means a change of venue for INTERGEO: instead of convening at the same place every year, the key exhibition and congress platform for geodesy, geoinformation and land management will take place in Hamburg in odd years (starting in 2029) and take turns between two other German trade fair cities in even years as of 2028. The 2026 event will take place in Munich in September.

The two companies are planning to host their first joint INTERGEO EXPO and Conference in 2028 with a venue still to be announced. Hamburg Messe und Congress will oversee the operational management of the exhibition and the INTERGEO Conference will continue to take place as a core component of the event under the operational and expert leadership of DVW.

“In Hamburg Messe und Congress we have won a strong partner for the continuation of the successful long-term development of INTERGEO. At the same time, we have abandoned other plans in favour of resuming our proven concept of alternating between venues to a certain extent so as to strengthen our ties with our industry in Germany and across Europe,” said DVW president prof. Rudolf Staiger.

“INTERGEO is another major industry event we have been able to win for Hamburg,” said Uwe Fischer, CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress. “INTERGEO is one of the foremost international events highlighting innovations in the fields of geodesy, geoinformation and land management… The CCH – Congress Center Hamburg, our exhibition halls and Planten un Blomen park form an optimal, highly attractive campus for it.”

INTERGEO’s most recent return saw 523 exhibitors from over 38 countries showcasing their products and solutions. Around 17,000 visitors attended the expo, with over half of them international attendees. The conference registered 1,250 visitors.
