EVCOM hosted its second EVCOM Industry Awards at a lunchtime ceremony in Tobacco Dock, London, on Friday 30th November.
Top awards were given out for excellence in live, screen and digital, which went to agencies working across all three disciplines. More than three hundred guests gathered to celebrate excellence in integrated communication practice.
Smyle took home Event Agency of the Year and Radley Yeldar took home Production Agency of the Year. Live Union and Plastic Pictures secured Challenger Event Agency and Challenger Production Agency awards respectively.
There were surprise wins for Plastic Pictures for Best Conference and Best Creative Solution for their work with Thomas Cook. Media Zoo secured the highest number of gold awards with their film work. Losing Mr Renton, created for Santander, was singled out for particular praise.
Judges came from a number of notable partner organisations including Investors in People, the Creative Industries Federation and the British Film Institute. They ranked over 80 winning projects presented by agencies and individuals, who qualified through shortlisting rounds in the Summer.
Television presenter and campaigner Charlie Webster was Mistress of Ceremonies, and entertainment was provided by Events R Talented in support of industry charity Meeting Needs.
EVCOM CEO Jennifer Jenkins said: “This year’s EVCOM Industry Awards attracted the highest number of entrants into the agency of the year categories. We will continue to improve the scheme and find innovative ways to showcase the winning projects.
“The quality of the work needs to be seen and shared. It is a testament to the vibrancy and creative talent of the live and visual communications communities that make up the EVCOM membership. There has never been a more important time to showcase this work internationally.”
Winning entries from the film and screen categories will now be archived in the British Film Institute archives as part of the on-going partnership between EVCOM and the BFI.
