The NEC has a busy schedule of nine events taking place to kick off June, including the launch of Manufacturing and Engineering Week.

The Birmingham venue’s schedule begins with the 45th edition of Subcon, The Engineer Expo and Manufacturing Management Show – the UK’s premier subcontract supply chain event which takes place from 7-9 June.

Nineteen Group, alongside 73 Media, will launch Manufacturing and Engineering Week (M&E), which features digital events on Tuesday and Friday and its live events programme taking place from 8-9 June.

The exhibition will bring together a series of events that will showcase end-to-end manufacturing and engineering solutions. It has been developed closely with sector partners such as Make UK and will include speakers such as business secretary of state Kwasi Kwarteng, who will open the event.

Nineteen Group marketing director Verity Noon said: “Covering the full life cycle from design, to engineering, to manufacturing and maintenance, the event will bring so many innovative ideas and creative people together, it will help supercharge UK industry to meet its challenges and make the most of its opportunities.”

Ed Tranter, managing director of 73 Media, said: “From a concept a year ago, gaining phenomenal support from the UK’s key industrial stakeholders, and with a brilliant shift from the M&E team, we are finally here.

“[There is] lots to see and do, including Aston Martin F1 simulator, the great egg race competition, and our sustainability area.”

Kwarteng said: “I look forward to flying the flag for the UK’s fantastic manufacturers at Manufacturing and Engineering Week at NEC Birmingham, which will be a prime example of how the exhibition industry supports British businesses, large and small.”
