Steve Knight leaves The Meetings Show

Steve Knight, event director of The Meetings Show, has stepped down from his role. Knight launched the event in 2012. The Meetings Show is a brand by Centaur Media.

In addition, the organiser has announced that David Chapple will be taking on the newly-created role of group event director, bringing The Meetings Show into his existing portfolio of events including The Business Travel Show and Travel Technology Europe.

Chapple, event director of sister event The Business Travel Show, has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. He launched Travel Technology Europe in 2002 and more recently the Business Travel Summits in London and Amsterdam.

Commenting on the news, Steve Newbold, divisional managing director of Centaur Media, said: “Steve has played a key role in growing The Meetings Show. Under his management, the event has become a firm fixture in the meetings calendar attracting more than 700 key exhibiting brands. I would like to thank Steve for his support, hard work and commitment to The Meetings Show and the industry. He leaves with our thanks and best wishes for the future.”
