Sodexo pledges one million meals for Notre-Dame reconstruction

by Nicola Macdonald

French food services and facilities management company Sodexo has announced that, following the devastating fire that ravaged Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on 15 April, it will offer one million meals to those involved in the reconstruction of the iconic building.

Denis Machuel, chief executive officer of Sodexo, said: “With our employees, we are dedicated to serving the women and men who will devote themselves to rebuilding Notre-Dame. Contributing each day to their invaluable efforts is our way to join the impressive collective momentum that brings us together.”

The news comes after multiple millionaires, organisations and philanthropists pledged funds to help rebuild the cathedral, totalling hundreds of millions of euros.
