UBM Live has promoted group director Simon Parker to MD of UBM Live UK as part of the restructure of its UK businesses.
Parker was formerly group director of UBM Live’s Venues, Protection and Leisure show and brand portfolio including IFSEC, International Confex, Leisure Industry Week and the Facilities Show.
Under the newly-created role he now also takes responsibility for all brands overseen by colleague and group director of Customer Management and ATC, Mark Snell. These range from Air Traffic Controller to Technology for Marketing and Advertising (TFM&A) and the eCommerce and Call Centre Expos.
Parker told EN the company was in advanced discussions with Snell about a number of opportunities under the revised structure but has not yet confirmed his new role.
“It’s a difficult decision, but we are confident that we will find an opportunity for Mark and retain his skills in the business,” Parker said.
The move to combine the two group director’s positions comes a year after UBM International and UBM Live commenced a merger and represented a natural evolution of the UK business, he continued.
“This is about positioning ourselves for future growth by having a single management team and leadership,” Parker said.
Parker continues to report to UBM Live CEO Simon Foster. UBM Built Environment continues to run as a separate vertical business.
