Packaging Innovations has announced the introduction of two new interactive show features for the 2020 show.
The features will aim to address the challenges faced by industry professionals at every point of packaging’s journey, from conception to consumer. Through this, it is hoped that the new features will allow professionals to gain inspiration from designers, get tailored advice, and network with some of the ‘best and brightest minds’ in packaging.
Also new for 2020, the Visit the Future Hub will play host to a series of initiatives that will enable visitors to discover how the packaging industry is evolving. Joining the zone is the new Design Innovation Stage which will gather experts in an attempt to bridge the gap between design and technical production. Meanwhile, the Start-Up Village will showcase six up-and-coming packaging companies.
The Innovation Showcase will also join the hub to present 12 new solutions, which will be competing to win ‘Most Innovative Pack’, which will be voted for by visitors and announced live on the second day of the event.
Devised to celebrate the important role that young talent has to play in the industry, the show will also welcome the Education Hub. The feature, which successfully debuted at Packaging Innovations London 2019, connects young people at the beginning of their careers with experienced professionals, allowing them to explore the possibilities of a career in packaging, whilst also helping brands discover the next generation of talent.
The show will also include the Packaging Consultancy Clinic, where visitors can receive one-to-one, personalised advice on any aspect of the packaging journey by booking a session hosted by the Packaging Society. The clinic allows visitors to ask questions, bring along packaging designs, and gain advice on any challenges or issues they are experiencing from experts.
Event director of Easyfairs’ UK Packaging Portfolio, Victoria Blake, said: “Our interactive features have been designed to equip visitors with the insights and inspiration they need to take their own packaging concepts to the next level. Whether it’s discovering the latest trends or gaining tailored advice, Packaging Innovations 2020 will provide professionals with the tools they need to create solutions that work throughout the entire packaging journey in an industry that is constantly evolving.”
Packaging Innovations 2020 will take place from 27–28 February 2020 at the NEC Birmingham.
