Oncology Professional Care (OPC) Virtual organiser, CloserStill Media, has reported that over 2,500 healthcare professionals registered for the new event, targeted at the UK oncology community.
The free-to-attend event, which took place from 9-10 June, had an educational programme for healthcare professionals and delivered over 30 expert speakers and over 17 industry sponsors and partners.
CloserStill Media said it launched the CPD certified event to meet training needs, promote networking and develop a stronger voice for all oncology healthcare professionals and their multidisciplinary teams in cancer care.
Dame Cally Palmer, national cancer director of NHS England opened the online event with an opening address to the oncology community on ‘Accelerating innovation, managing recovery and improving survival’.
The OPC Virtual Programme was structured into 4 theatres, to highlight different topics facing the oncology sector; The Keynote Theatre, The Improving Early Detection and Diagnosis Theatre, The Advanced Cancer Treatments and Technologies Theatre and The Transforming Cancer Care Pathways Theatre.
Event manager Lucy Clarke said: “Of course, these fabulous results wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our partners and supporters ABHI, BOPA, Cancer Research UK, The CPD Certification Service, Leukaemia Care, Macmillan Cancer Support, Myeloma UK, NHS England and Improvement and UKONS.”
OPC Virtual will be available for three months for all registered attendees to watch sessions back on-demand.
CloserStill announced that the show will return face-to-face on 24-25 May 2022 at the ExCeL London.
