The Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) will host a debut home improvement show in June from new organiser TradesAdvisor.com.
The online tradesmen directory is running Scottish Home 2012 in association with Businessplus Scotland on 16 and 17 June. The organiser is hoping for 3,500 visitors over the two days and 80 exhibition stands.
Scottish Homes 2012 is the second event for TradesAdvisor.com, which held a successful smaller event at Aberdeen Football Club last June.
TradesAdvisor director Darren Ross claimed there is room in the market for the show despite Media 10’s Ideal Home Show Scotland, which returns to Glasgow’s Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre from 2 to 5 June.
The AECC contributed £103m to Scotland’s North East regional economy during the recession, a report from Inverness-based Mackay Consultants has claimed.
“Scottish Home 2012 looks set to be a fantastic show, adding another aspect to the variety of events running at the centre this year,” said AECC’s managing director Brian Horsburgh.
