Raccoon Events, the company behind the National Running Show, National Snow Show, National Outdoor Expo and Run Show USA, has announced it is adding another event to its portfolio of B2C health and wellbeing events.

The National Cycling Show, set to take place at the NEC in Birmingham on 18-19 June 2022, will host some 20,000 cycling enthusiasts and 200 exhibitors.

The event, which is targeted at budding and experienced cyclists, will be a retail experience with interactive features set across 14,000sqm. Speakers include Sir Chris Hoy, Jenny Tough, Mimi Anderson and Marlon Moncrieffe.

The event will allow consumers to try and buy a bike, while helping to support independent bike dealers who will then deliver the purchased items directly after the show.

The event will also feature a Cycling 101 Stage, aimed specifically at new entrants to the sport. It will offer workshops and sessions such as Safety on the Roads, Maintaining your bike, Cycling as a commuter option and Getting started in Cycling from experts and professionals from across the industry.

Stephen Morgan, MD at Raccoon Events Active Division said: “This event will not only serve to grow the market but will also perfectly suit the needs of the consumers who want to be able to try and buy bikes and equipment on the day. Brands will have an opportunity to tap into a completely new market while still meeting the specific needs of their existing one, win win!”
