Manchester Central shares insight into its transformation from Nightingale back to events venue

by Louisa Daley

The latest episode of Manchester Central’s podcast spin-off series shares how after having spent 12-months as an NHS Nightingale Hospital, Manchester Central is now in the process of being transformed back into an events venue.

The venue’s facilities management team have been working over the last few months to restore the Manchester Central spaces to their original state; working with contractors to remove the hospital infrastructure and ensuring that all venue facilities are fully reinstated, ready to welcome the return of events.

Samantha Pike-Devlin, digital communications executive and Central Chat host, returned to Manchester Central earlier this month to speak to some of the team onsite to find out what they have been working on, how they feel about being back and what they are most looking forward to about the venue re-opening next month.

As well as speaking to Andy Kelly, director of facilities, and his team, Devlin also spoke to the venue’s head chef, head of IT, health, safety and environmental manager and many other team members before speaking to Shaun Hinds, CEO of Manchester Central, about what is next for the venue.
