A new study by Sheffield Hallam University states the British seaside tourism industry is one of the healthiest sectors in the region.
In England and Wales the industry directly supports 210,000 people, more than the motor, aerospace, steel or pharmaceuticals industries. The estimated value to the economy of jobs in seaside tourism is around £3.6bn.
