Imagination director Richard Foulkes is to head the 2010/11 International Special Events Society (ISES) UK board from 1 July.
Foulkes will be replacing the current president and Visit London’s Zanine Adams. He says: “Under the leadership of Adams 2009/10 was a fantastic year for the association and we will continue to build on the achievements of our ISES UK predecessors by providing high quality content and valuable networking.”
He notes that the UK events industry will play host to London 2012, the Commonwealth Games 2014 and the Rugby World Cup in 2015. “As an association that represents the creative people in the events industry we will make sure our members get the information, advice, connections and inspiration they need to make the most of this fantastic opportunity as well as continuing to foster the future generations of creative talent.”
Also elected to the board are Jonathan Byrne from No. 4 Hamilton Place as president elect, Bonnie May from Global Infusion Group, Claire Berry from Soho House Group and Val Brooks from Bourne Collection to name a few.
The board’s director of marketing will be Jo Mayer from the Confex Group and the director of PR and communications will be Davies Tanner’s Jane Hague. The director exhibitions is Dan Hands from Handsie Display.
