Great Britain Live to launch at Ricoh

The official launch of Great Britain Live, celebrating all things British and organised by Top British Events, will take place from 30 October – 1 November at Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

The organiser is offering free tickets to all Emergency Services, Armed Forces and NHS key workers nationwide, as a thank you.

Visitors to the event are expected to experience a world of Britishness with features, luxury and high street shopping, live shows, inspirational masterclasses, demonstrations, and catwalk presentations, the best line-up of celebrity guests and hands-on advice from much-loved industry experts.

The event is expected to feature Britain’s best-known and most desirable retailers, and brands flying the flag for the UK marketplace and celebrating the best of British life with sustainability and mindfulness running through the heart of the show.

With seven key lifestyle sections including; The Great British Food Hall, British Fashion & Beauty including Make It British dedicated to crafting and up-cycling, Britain Outdoors, British Home and Accessories, British Shopping, and A Guide to Sustainable Britain, the show will replicate the best British High Street and offer entertainment for visitors.

Michael Rossi, commercial director of Great Britain Live said; “In these uncertain times it feels strange to be announcing this new event but with a dateline that we feel will work, we’re anticipating that this will be a time when the British public are going to be eager to celebrate our Britishness, our culture and the hopeful return to our way of life.

“Our aim is to create one of the greatest shows to launch in years; to help get Britain moving, to celebrate and showcase British creativity, passion, and businesses – large or small – and we believe that come October/November we will be ready to get back to business and explore avenues to regenerate and re-build. Events such as Great Britain Live are going to be more important than ever to get our beautiful country into recovery, people will want to eat and buy British produce, support local businesses, and celebrate British crafts and creativity.

“Imagine all your favourite things in one incredible venue: a spectacle and a celebration of modern and heritage Britishness with shopping, the great outdoors, technology, interior design, gardening, sport, motoring, beauty, travel, pets, celebrities and incredible feature areas. With its 150-year heritage we are incredibly proud to work with Wasps and to host the event at their home ground, the Ricoh Arena. We can’t wait to open our doors to visitors in October and immerse them in everything Great Britain Live has to offer.”

A host of creative and innovative feature areas will add to the visitor experience including Britain’s best-known street which will be re-created with its own British Inn, corner shop, butcher’s, and salon. The Great British Food Stage will welcome top celebrity chefs guiding the audience through a variety of dishes using produce sourced locally from British farmers. Celebrity masterclasses and workshops will showcase the latest food and lifestyle trends from nutritional advice and veganism, to how to eat and shop sustainably, and the ultimate cleaning hacks from the most famous cleaning gurus.

The event, which is expected to attract 40,000 visitors across the three days, will also feature The Great British Runway with five different catwalk shows a day each presenting the latest trends and must-have pieces including; heritage fashion, glam party wear, body and sport, as well as dedicated Make It British and beauty scenes. Visitors can also stop by the Toni & Guy hair salon for a range of treatments and blow dry styles.

Foodie enthusiasts can look forward to consuming the very best of British cuisine, modern street food and tasty beverages brewed from specialist producers from across the country. Visitors will also be able to recharge at The Great British Inn and The Gin & Fizz Club.

Britain Outdoors, will allow visitors to explore garden studios designed and built in the UK, sculptures crafted by British artists, gardening tools and machinery from leading British brands right through to specialist growers and nurseries. There will also be expert-led outdoor leisure activities, the best British breaks, weekends away, motoring, and sporting activities – some of which will be hosted by Wasps.

The event will also feature Homes & Interiors offering homemade furnishings, home makeover advice, decor ideas and inspiration, as well as the latest interior trends, and British-made kitchens, bathrooms and furniture.

The organisers are also expected to secure a number of British celebrities to support the event.
