Andy Gibb chief commercial officer of GES EMEA has announced his departure from the firm to assume the post of managing director of the Ricoh Stadium, Coventry.
Gibb joined GES at the beginning of 2012 and will leave at the end of February.
“Andy has been a superb ambassador for our company and the industry as a whole, through his collaboration and support of the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA),” said Nick Marshall, executive chairman of GES. “Not everyone knows that Andy once played top class rugby for Wasps, and we’re thrilled he’s going to be managing director of Wasps’ new stadium. It would be fair to say that this is Andy’s dream job, and we’re thrilled for him.”
Paying tribute to GES, Gibb said: “I’d like to thank GES and Nick Marshall in particular for a fantastic three years, and look forward to welcoming my old colleagues to the Ricoh which after all, is just around the corner.”
GES acquired international AV specialist Blitz Communications in 2014, expanding its range of services further into the live events, conference and exhibition sector.
