Event industry cricket tournament Sticky Wicket returned yesterday, 27 July, with Exhibition News winning the ultimate prize.
The event, which took place at Old Wimbledonians Sports Ground, saw 12 companies take part to raise funds for youth cricket and disability sports charity Lord’s Taverners.
EN took the victory over Clarion Events in the final, while ExCeL London and Nineteen Group battled it out in the plate final. Also taking part in the tournament were dmg events, Raccoon Events, Informa, Aztec/Farnborough, CloserStill, RX Global, BDC and Easyfairs.
Despite rail strikes, the event was well-attended and brought together players of all abilities, who stayed behind after the cricket for the awards ceremony, raffle, auction and further networking.
It is the first time EN has won Sticky Wicket in the tournament’s 15-year history having come close on several occasions.
Among the tournament’s many impressive performers was EN’s Ruby Linton, who picked up the player of the tournament award.
