An Edinburgh Napier MSc in Business Event Management has become the first programme in Scotland to gain membership of the International Congress and Convention Association.
The course became the first of its type in the UK when it was launched in 2017 in association with the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC). Students on the programme will now automatically become members of ICCA< allowing them to access industry information and global research and trends analysis.
Students will also get the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend the ICCA’s annual international conference, which this year will be held in Dubai. Alongside attendance, the winning students will receive specialised professional mentoring at the event as well as the chance to attend meetings and network with delegates.
Dr Martin Robertson (pictured right), programme leader for Edinburgh Napier’s MSc Business Event Management course, said: “2018 will be the second year of the MSc Business Event Management programme. Its development has been timely given that it is a professional area that has become ever more important – both in the wonderful, creative city of Edinburgh and in other major cities throughout the world.
“Membership of ICCA is fantastic for the programme as it will undoubtedly stand the course, and our students, in good stead as we move forward in the coming months. Gaining industry insight is a focus of the course and it is great to strengthen this even further with this link-up.”
