The 14th edition of the Delhi Jewellery & Gem Fair (DJGF) 2026, organised by Informa Markets in India, closed, 28 September, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, having welcomed 30,000 trade visitors over three days.

It was the biggest edition of the B2B jewellery exhibition to date and involved 650 exhibitors and 3,000 jewellery brands.

DJGF 2026 reflected the evolving dynamics of India’s jewellery industry, with strong emphasis on sourcing, retail, design, technology, craftsmanship and export opportunities. International buyers came from 15 countries.

India’s gems and jewellery exports reached $27.72bn in FY26, while the recently outlined 2040 roadmap set an ambition of taking exports to $100bn.

Pramod Derawala, chairman, National Jewellery and Gemstone Council of India (NJGCI), said: “India’s jewellery sector has significant growth potential across manufacturing and exports, supported by government initiatives and greater market access through FTAs. Countries with which India has signed FTAs import nearly $55bn worth of jewellery, while India’s share is around $8bn, indicating considerable scope for expansion. Rising gold prices are also shifting consumer preferences towards lightweight jewellery, while over 90% of high-value jewellery purchases continue through physical retail… Platforms such as the Delhi Jewellery and Gems Fair help bring the industry together to strengthen the ecosystem and support sustainable growth.”

Naveen Kumar Jindal, senior chairman, TBJA, noted: “India’s jewellery industry has a substantial unorganised base, with Delhi alone having nearly 45,000 to 50,000 people working in this segment. With margins in the volume business as low as 1.5 to 2%, jewellers need to continuously focus on design, craftsmanship, affordability and operational efficiency.

“Exhibitions such as DJGF, with participation from India and overseas, provide access to new designs, products and ideas that can help businesses remain competitive and identify new growth opportunities.”

The show also saw the 10th edition of the Retail Jewellers Guild Awards (RJGA) and Fashion Show at The Lalit.

Yogesh Mudras, managing director of show organiser Informa Markets in India, said India’s jewellery industry continued to demonstrate its significance in the global market, while also undergoing an important period of transformation. “In the second quarter of 2026, India accounted for 27% of global gold jewellery demand.”
