The organiser of Connect Showcase has revealed details of Connect17, the second edition of the trade show for the events industry in Ireland. Connect17 is a two-day event for anyone involved in the planning, organising or running of meetings and events. The exhibition is organised by Conference Partners International.
Speaking to EN, Nicola McGrane, CEO Conference Partners International, said: “This is a place for professionals to experience everything they need to find success – the ideas, the connections and the practical skills. It is both inspiring and hands on learning.”
Connec17 comprises ConnectTALKS, ConnectSHOWFLOOR and ConnectFEST. These event features provide a platform for learning, business exchange and networking.
In attendance at Connect Showcase 2017 will be corporate and incentive buyers from the US, Canada, alongside European countries including the UK and international associations.
McGrane explained: “The event will also welcome event planners from small to medium size companies, event professionals from agencies, Ccorporate event planners, PCOs and DMCs as well as national associations/governmental and non-governmental agencies who have an events calendar.”
The organiser told EN that one of the core objectives of Connect is to engage with students. “We will purposely target (students) in order to create awareness of the industry and to attract talented business professionals into it,” enthused McGrane
Building on success
Connect17 is the second edition of the show. The inaugural event, held in 2017, attracted 2,756 visitors in 2016, 26 per cent of which were event professionals and 25 per cent from corporate Ireland.
“The event delivered the perfect platform for 230 exhibition stands, of these 150 were regional stands and 80 were individual stands from 15 regions. The total overall economic impact from this event on the Irish economy was €3.3 million,” McGrane said.
McGrane also told EN that Connect Showcase 2017 has improved, developed and expanded in all areas from the inaugural event last year.
“The target this year is not just to increase exhibitor numbers to 250 from 230, but also to improve the exhibitor experience and their return on investment. In order to achieve this we have made several changes for 2017, these alterations include improving the show layout and design,” she explained.
Connect17 is held on 17-18 October at RDS, in Dublin, Ireland.
