The Baby Show has been postponed until 2021, the show’s organiser has confirmed.
The event was due to take place at the NEC from 27-29 November, but now an online version will take place 30 October to 2 November 2020.
A statement read: “In response to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic and the recent government directives in regard to the pandemic, it is in the best interests of all our visitors, exhibitors, staff and contractors to postpone both shows until 2021.
“The Baby Show feels strongly not to compromise on the quality of the event, range of brands and visitor experience that the show has become synonymous with delivering. Passionate about safeguarding the brand and honouring its 18-year legacy, both shows will transition into one fully virtual event.”
Some 35,000 new and expecting parents are forecast to e-attend the online event, known as the Baby Show Live @ Home with Lidl.
Zoe Bonser, the event’s show director said that the organising team were disappointed and that everything within their power had been done to get the show running. “We want to thank all our partners, exhibitors, visitors and suppliers who have supported us every step of the way, to bring the shows physically to you this year,” she said.
“We understand that this decision will be a disappointment to both the baby and parenting brands and the expectant and new parents who so eagerly await The Baby Show to get everything they need. We look forward to when we can get together again.”
