The organiser of the annual Ski and Snowboard Show will move the exhibition into Earls Court 2 from 2012.

VOS Media relocated the consumer exhibition from Olympia’s Grand Hall into Earls Court 1 this year in a bid to increase visitor numbers by providing better transport links. The additional space also provided the opportunity to build bigger features.

Although happy with the 2011 result, VOS Media MD Damian Norman said Earls Court 2 was a better size for the show. Ski and Snowboard will also run two weeks later in 2012 to coincide with half-term, pay day week and the clocks going back, he said. Next year’s edition runs from 31 October to 4 November 2012.

“The show’s offering will be tailored accordingly to fit the half-term dateline and will offer both interactivity and value for families during weekdays,” Norman said. “The move has been incredibly popular with our exhibitors.”

This year’s Ski and Snowboard saw a small decline in attendance, which Norman attributed to a poor walk up on the last Sunday of the exhibition. Despite this, VOS reported a 71 per cent onsite rebook.

“Despite the economic gloom and the tropical weather with more visitors wearing flip flops than winter jackets the show was a success,” Norman added.
