The Meetings Show opened its doors today (8 July), with organiser Centaur Exhibitions reporting 731 hosted buyers had registered for this year’s event.
The number is 62 per cent up on the 2013 figure.
The organiser has reported 460 exhibitors and a 20 per cent increase in floor space.
“This is a fantastic achievement,” said Steve Knight, The Meetings Show’s event director. “I am extremely proud of the fact that we are facilitating more than 10,000 separate pre-scheduled appointments this year, bringing individuals and organisations together to develop relationships, grow business and create success.”
The 2014 show programme began on Monday 7 July with The Association Meetings Conference at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London followed by a hosted buyer welcome reception at The Science Museum.
The venue is part of the Lime Venue Portfolio, a member of the Compass Group.
The Meetings Show runs to 10 July. It has partnered with new industry association EVCOM to raise the event’s profile and benefit members and attendees.
