The deadline for the EN Indy Awards – which celebrate the UK’s independent organisers – has been extended to Friday 23 August.
The awards were launched in 2018 at the Honourable Artillery Company in Moorgate, London, and will be held at the venue for a second time for the 2019 edition, taking place on 11 October from midday onwards.
The EN Indys allow independent organisers or smaller event division to compete against their peers and have their excellence recognised by the exhibition industry.
Categories open for entries include Best Launch, Best Trade Show, Best Consumer Show, Indy Organiser Team of the Year and Unsung Hero.
2018 Best Trade Show winner Paul Clark, organiser of Installer2018, described the value of the awards to the independent organiser market, saying: “We have been proudly shortlisted for numerous EN Awards, but we know we’re up against stiff competition, and haven’t been able to bring one home.
“That’s where the EN Indy awards is great for us. As a small team, it’s difficult to compete with the events powerhouses, so it’s a much better fit for us. Plus it’s great to network and learn from similar-sized event organisers.”
Earlier this month, the judging panel for the event was announced, comprising:
Janine Smith, NEC, Conference and Exhibition Sales Director
Chris Clipston, Circdata, Managing Director
Ashley Austin, Evolution Dome, Director
Adrian Evans, ACC Liverpool, Assistant Director of Conference and Exhibition Sales
Adam Aston, Creative Hire, Chief Business Officer
Max Bull, BDC, Executive Director of Venue Sales
John Robson, Aztec Event Services, Managing Director
