The management buyout of registration and database management company, Event Advantage Solutions, will enable it to expand beyond its core market of exhibition services, say those behind the buyout.
Managing director Peder Berg, technical director Robert Morley and director of the Middle East, Mark Elliott, led the MBO from the parent company FC Business Intelligence.
In planning since last September, the acquisition comprises the company’s UK and UAE offices and has been privately funded, Berg told EN. “FC Business Intelligence was great, but it is focused on conferences. Our business is event technology and we don’t fit their portfolio anymore.”
He says the move will allow EAS to make quicker decisions in future as it expands its range of services, particularly in the Middle East where is has just launched a new project with Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre to provide feedback for the venue.
The initiative was launched at this month’s World Future Energy Summit and EAS will record the views of organisers, exhibitors and visitors at five shows in total, giving real time information to the venue.
