Last Friday saw the 2nd EN Indy awards take place at the Honourable Artillery Company in London.
The awards were a great success, and I think it’s fair to say, it was packed! With many event professionals coming together to celebrate not only the winners, but the industry itself.
Saul Leese, editor of Exhibition News, who opened the event with a speech highlighting plans for future issues of the magazine, and commending independents for showing dedication, passion and an unparalleled ‘Street level’ understanding of their respective markets, added: “What an incredible event. The quality of entries for this year’s awards was outstanding and we were significantly up on last year (88%) proving that this event is much needed by the independent sector. The event was so much fun and I’m sure there are quite a few people nursing hangovers this morning. This event is the jewel in our crown and I want to see it continue to grow, so please spread the word.”
The awards went off without a hitch, with all the finalists and winners joining in with the excitement and celebrations.
Portfolio director Duncan Siegle added: “We’d also like to thank our headline and category sponsors without whom this event would not be possible – so a huge ‘thank you’ to Circdata, beMatrix and The NEC – as well as See Tickets for the winners’ champagne and The SEC for their Gindy sponsorship. We’d also like to thank SEARCY for the excellent catering they provided. And our final thanks to Steve Monnington and his team at Mayfield Merger Strategies for supporting the event.”
