Comic Con Northern Ireland returns to the Eikon Exhibition Centre in Lisburn on 19-20 September, bringing two days of film, television, gaming and cosplay to the venue. Lisburn is located just southwest of Belfast.
This year’s guest line-up includes David Boreanaz, Catherine Tate, Edward James Olmos and Tyler Hoechlin, spanning shows including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead. Alongside the celebrity guests, the show floor will feature cosplay competitions, retro and modern gaming areas, and stalls from artists and traders selling comics, collectibles and artwork.
Previous editions of the event have welcomed guests including Elijah Wood, Sean Astin and Christopher Lloyd.
Twenty shows across the UK
The event is organised by Monopoly Events, which runs 20 conventions across the UK under three formats: Comic Con, its multi-fandom events combining celebrity guests, gaming and cosplay; For the Love of…, genre-specific events built around a single fandom; and Comic Con Mania, one-day events designed for cities without large exhibition spaces.
The company launched in 2015, growing out of its CEO’s interest in 80s culture, vintage toys and prop building.
