Bee Events to launch The Fishing Show in Yorkshire

by Nicola Macdonald

A new consumer fishing show will launch at Yorkshire Event Centre on 8-9 June 2019.

The Fishing Show, organised by the venue’s organising arm Bee Events, will ‘bring together everyone’s fishing favourites under one roof’. New face of angling Marina Gibson (pictured right) and well-known fly fisherman Paul Procter (pictured left) have embraced the new event. Internationally renowned carp angler Rob Hughes who manages the England carp fishing team, has also added his backing.

This will be the first ever dedicated fishing show of its kind to be held in Yorkshire and will be for anglers from all walks of life whether they are seasoned rods, or absolute beginners who are keen to learn about fishing. The event will cover all aspects of angling, including carp, coarse, fly fishing, sea fishing and fly tying.

Managing director Heather Parry said: “We have created The Fishing Show which will be the first large scale event of its kind in Yorkshire. More rod licences were sold in Yorkshire than anywhere else in England and fishing is one of the most popular sports in the UK. We know the demand is out there and the response we have had from the industry already has been overwhelming. We look forward to welcoming experienced anglers to those who want to find out more about fishing, here at the Great Yorkshire Showground in June.”

Hughes added: “An event like this has been long overdue in Yorkshire and I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge with the visitors. For once the organisers have listened and it appears there will be talks, demonstrations, workshops and advice for rank beginners right through to those who waft a rod on a more regular basis. Most of all, we must cater for youngsters, ladies and families to show them how easy and fun fishing can be.”
