The co-located exhibitions IFSEC, FIREX, Facilities Show and Safety & Health Expo, which ran under the Anticipate London brand at Excel in December, have been closed down.
A statement from their organiser, Informa, read: “We’ve taken the decision to retire Anticipate. This industry is about evolving and adapting. And we know that the ways UK professionals want to stay informed across the many topics and specialisms within health, safety, security, buildings and facilities are changing too.
IFSEC was launched in 1974, hosting British and international security professionals, suppliers and organisations. In 2019, it attracted more than 34,700 visitors and 500 exhibitors.
In reaction to the news of its demise, one organiser told EN: “Ten years ago, IFSEC and its associated events were amongst the five biggest trade shows in the UK, with a turnover of around £15m. It looks like increased UK market competition has taken its toll on this historic show.”
IFSEC’s Informa team concluded: “We’re proud to have served this fantastic community over the years. Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey.”
