8,705 visitors attend Homebuilding and Renovating Show

by Emily Wallin

The South East Homebuilding & Renovating Show set the benchmark for live events in 2022, welcoming 8,705 visitors.

Event director Nick Noble said the consumer show on 15-16 January had “set the tone for the 2022 events calendar”  after they decided to “hold their nerve” despite fears over the Omicron variant of Covid-19. He added that attendance at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre had been  “better than we could have expected”.

More than 150 companies exhibited at the show and visitors enjoyed free daily seminars and masterclasses covering kitchens, bathrooms, doors and windows, extensions and conversions, eco-heating, architecture, design, financial services and  planning permission.

Noble said: “The South East Show was a huge success, better than we could have asked for. While Omicron hit the UK in mid-December, we decided to hold our nerve and go ahead with the show, albeit with some trepidation from our exhibitors regarding their return on investment.

“With registrations increasing in January, the show converted visitors’ initial interest into attendance and exceeded our expectations, overwhelming our exhibitors and vindicating our decision to go ahead. It’s clear people are craving live events and interaction with specialists and experts in their field as well as the desire to touch and feel high quality products. The South East Show has now set the tone for the 2022 events calendar, and we are already looking forward to the next show at the NEC in March.”
