Retail Week Live confirms first 50 speakers for in-person event

by Joe Gallop

Two-day conference Retail Week Live has announced its first 50 speakers as it heralds a welcome return to in-person events for the sector alongside sister event Retail Week Awards.

Over 1,000 grocers, fashion and lifestyle retailers, digital and tech experts, disruptors and entrepreneurs, and more will speak at the event, which takes place at new venue Magazine London (pictured) from 13-14 October.

The event takes place the week after the sector unites to celebrate the industry’s frontline workers at the Retail Week Awards sponsored by Salesforce on 6 October at Evolution London.

Among the speakers is new Tesco CEO Ken Murphy alongside leaders from the likes of The Co-Op, The Very Group, IKEA Group, adidas, Green & Black’s, Farfetch, Thrift+. The event headline partner is global payments provider, Openpay.

Retail Week managing director Hanna Jackson said: “Whilst the pandemic has undeniably impacted our sector, it’s time to look forward and move forward, which is why this year’s programme is structured around Retail Week’s five winning strategies, which are integral if organisations are to succeed delivering for tomorrow’s consumer today – brand relevance and evolution, culture and purpose, agility and partnerships, innovation and investment and customer experience – and we have some incredible speakers and sessions lined up for delegates.

“What’s more, we’re delighted to be able to deliver this content in person. We have daily conversations with key players in the UK retail sector and each and every one tells us they cannot wait to get back together, see each other face to face, network and learn, and neither can we. Roll on October, when we can celebrate all our past achievements at the Retail Week Awards and then unite for Retail Week Live and look to the future.”

Louise Stonier, chief people and culture officer at Pets at Home, also sits on the Retail Week Live Advisory Board alongside leaders from the likes of Gymshark, M&S, Coca Cola, Notonthehighstreet.com: “I am so excited to be reconnecting in person with the rest of the industry at Retail Week Live this October, and to hear from the most inspirational and forward thinking thought leaders from retail and beyond.”
