Event management software company EventMobi has added Call for Speakers to its online platform. The feature lets organisers manage speaker applications in the same system as their event website, registration and event app. Speakers submit session proposals through a form on the EventMobi event website, and organisers review them in the platform. Accepted proposals become sessions in the event programme with one click, so nothing needs retyping.
Call for Speakers is included in EventMobi packages at no extra cost, with no set-up or per-submission fees. EventMobi says it’s aimed at associations, which often pay for a separate system to gather session proposals from members and then re-enter accepted sessions by hand, as well as corporate teams looking for customer and partner speakers for their user conferences.
Bob Vaez, founder and CEO of EventMobi, said: “Great events are built long before registration opens. Organisers shouldn’t have to buy another system to get there.”
How it works
Organisers build their submission page using a drag-and-drop editor, choosing their own form fields and opening and closing dates, and speakers can apply without creating an EventMobi account. Proposals are collected in one table, where teams can add notes, filter submissions and export them to Excel. Accepted speakers get a pre-filled profile, with any files they uploaded attached.
Changing a proposal’s status doesn’t automatically email the speaker. Instead, organisers choose when to send acceptance and rejection emails, either one at a time or in bulk.
Syed Obaid, product lead at EventMobi, said: “Every programme has a maybe pile, and a speaker always drops out. Organisers need control over who hears what, and when.”
EventMobi, which was founded in 2010, says it works with more than 30,000 event planners. Its customers include GE HealthCare and the World Health Organisation.
