ACC Liverpool has provided an update on its sustainability initiatives and set ambitious targets for 2025. The venue has implemented multiple measures to reduce its environmental footprint, including the installation of air-sourced heat pumps and LED lighting, as well as promoting sustainable waste management practices and increasing biodiversity on-site.

The venue continues to collaborate with local businesses and environmental organisations to reduce its carbon footprint. It also supports event organisers in hosting eco-conscious events. Recent data indicates a 12% reduction in carbon emissions, positioning the organisation ahead of schedule in achieving its carbon-zero goal by 2030.

In addition to its own sustainability efforts, ACC Liverpool is helping clients host environmentally responsible events. The venue has partnered with Greengage to use the EVENTsmart carbon reporting tool, which measures the footprint of all events on its campus.

The team will showcase this initiative at International Confex, where they will use data from previous events to assess current footprints and demonstrate potential reductions.

Adrian Evans, director of sales – conference & business events at ACC Liverpool, said: “We’re reaffirming our commitment to a greener future and our recent successes have inspired us to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sustainable event management.”

Evans added: “Using Greengage’s carbon measurement tool EVENTsmart to track the impact of event activities, we can advise our clients and help implement responsible decision making into the planning, organisation, and participation in an event. We want to set a new standard for what venues can accomplish when they embrace a sustainable mindset.”

Andrew Perolls, CEO at Greengage Solutions, affirmed ACC Liverpool’s sustainability commitment: “ACC Liverpool is among an elite group of event venues to achieve Greengage’s prestigious ECOsmart Platinum certification. Their commitment to sustainability is exemplified by the adoption of EVENTsmart, a cutting-edge tool for measuring the CO₂ impact of all events. This proactive approach reinforces their outstanding reputation for minimizing environmental impact and leading the way in sustainable event management.”

ACC Liverpool will exhibit at multiple industry events in 2025, including International Confex (26-27 February), The Meetings Show Asia Pacific (16-17 April), and IMEX Frankfurt (20-22 May).
