Exhibitions are one of the most powerful ways to put your brand in front of the right people and generate new business. But with fierce competition, you can’t just show up, you need to stand out.

Think of it like scrolling through social media: if every stand looks the same, people pass by without a second glance. Only when something stands out do visitors stop to have conversations and take pictures/videos. They remember you.

As we often say: We want to be the TV show, not the adverts!

At this year’s Event Production Show (EPS), Premier Woodshop demonstrated precisely how a stand can turn attention into tangible business.

Strategy first: Designing for the right environment

EPS is a heavily tech-focused show, so we decided to flip the design on its head. Instead of competing with screens and lighting rigs, we went in the opposite direction: warm, tactile, and craft-led.

Visitors needed to immediately understand what we do. A stand that doesn’t communicate your product or service risks missing your ideal customer entirely.

We deliberately avoided gamification, too. For a niche offering like ours, attracting large amounts of casual footfall is less valuable than generating high-quality conversations with genuine prospects.

Design and build: A workshop in miniature

So, back to the design.

The concept was simple yet impactful: a physical woodshop. Complete with tools and a workbench, the stand immediately told the story of Premier Woodshop.

The stand was 3x6m, which proved that you don’t need a massive footprint to make an impact!

The idea may have looked simple and straightforward, but the finish had to be spot on. As a woodshop, we knew the stand would be judged on the same standards as the projects we build for clients. Every detail mattered, making the stand not just a showcase of what we do, but proof of how we do it.

Results that speak for themselves

The approach paid off. Our stand generated significant new business with 2 new confirmed clients. More importantly, every lead was the right kind and exactly what we were hoping for – highly relevant, engaged prospects attracted by a strategy built around quality rather than quantity.

Our experience at EPS confirmed that how you show up matters. A stand that truly reflects your brand doesn’t just attract attention; it attracts the right attention, turning conversations into genuine business opportunities.
