International Confex brought together thousands from the events industry last week. Visitors had the chance to walk through the bustling halls containing over 250 exhibitors and hundreds of speakers. EN asked those at International Confex why the event matters to them.

Exhibit 3Sixty, who specialise in exhibition stand design and builds, viewed Confex as an opportunity for brand exposure and a chance for deals: “Our customers are organisers so we are hoping to get our name out there and speak to organisers with the view of picking up some contracts”.

KMP, a printing supplier, saw Confex as a place to spread its sustainability message: “we are sustainable in everything so we can come to events like Confex and sing and shout about it. Everyone we have spoken to so far seems engaged with sustainable messages”.

However, for visitors it goes beyond just business deals, it is also about the opportunity to meet new people, and reconnect with old acquaintances. Mark Moloney, managing director at Professional Beauty, Salon International, HJi and Wellness, told us networking is where the value of Confex lies for him: “It is the connections  and the serendipity of chance encounters that I often find coming to Confex. For example, I have seen someone who I haven’t seen for two years here at Confex”.

Event professionals attend, organise and supply many events across the year. They serve all sectors, from tech to food to manufacturing. But International Confex is unique. It is the event for events. It serves as the meeting point for all the great minds in the industry. From Confex, people come away with new ideas and new connections which only helps boost the events industry forward.

Carsten Holm, managing director at Diversified Communications UK, reiterated the importance of Confex for the industry as a whole: “It is so important for event professionals to come to Confex – it does the industry proud. People feel really lifted by coming to events like Confex.”

International Confex served all stakeholders in the events industry. Whether an exhibitor wanted to make a million pound deal or a student visitor wanted to learn about the industry and make new connections, the event is useful for everyone. With the events industry meet-up a success, there is now lots to be excited about for events in 2025.
