On her appointment, Carter said she was looking forward to an “exciting” 2021. She said: “I am delighted to be working with Exhibition News as its guest editor for the next few months. The exhibition world has held its breath since March but now it is gearing up for a very full and exciting 2021. I am looking forward to helping deliver a fresh and relevant publication that reflects this.”

Julian Agostini, Mash Media’s managing director, welcomed Carter to the magazine, noting that her experience would be vital in shepherding the industry back to business as the UK heads towards the return of live exhibitions. “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Ruth, she has been a valuable contributor to our magazines over the years and provides a unique and levelled view on pretty much any exhibition topic,” he said. “The industry is going through a watershed moment, and an experienced expert in the field is required to help steer the industry towards a strong, impactful return.

“She was also a founding member and a driving force in establishing the Women in Exhibitions Network and we are delighted to have another strong female in the Mash Media family.”
