Rachel Gregory, sales manager at Diversified Communications and member of the EN 30 Under 30 class of 2018, on grabbing opportunities with both hands.
As I turn 30 this year I am reviewing my past decisions, which you can evaluate at any age, thinking back to how I have progressed to where I am now. Where would I be if I had said no to a particular opportunity? Where will I be in 10 years time?
What I have learnt is to be confident in your decisions, whichever path you choose it will lead you to something good, and if it doesn’t there are plenty of other paths to choose from. Life is full of choices your next decision could lead to a new career, a house move, relationship the possibilities are endless.
If you don’t take a leap of faith you will never know what awaits you down the paths you fear.
The worst thing in life is getting to an age and looking back thinking ‘why didn’t I say yes….’ No one wants to look back and have regrets.
Fear is nothing more than an emotion, a single feeling, but the scary thing is it actually prevents a lot of people from making decisions that could lead to fulfilment, happiness and accomplishment.
We do like a routine and we as people get comfortable with our lives, but comfortable is not amazing, incredible, nor is it exciting!
Don’t just wish or imagine the possibilities make them happen and live tomorrow as you would dream it to be.
You can do anything you want, the world is your oyster and if you are reading this and thinking “I could BUT….“ then you are just making an excuse and this excuse will trick your brain into thinking that this particular decision is not possible, that’s fear talking and taking over.
Whatever it is you desire reach out and grab it with both hands, place a stepping stone down each day one at a time and slowly walk the path you desire.
Will you be rolling the dice to see where your next decision takes you?
