The National Running Show has opened applications for its 2025 Community Grant Scheme, supporting local running groups across the UK.
First launched in 2020, the scheme provides funding to help grassroots clubs tackle barriers to participation and promote regular physical activity.
Run by Raccoon Media Group, the National Running Show began in 2018 and has grown into the UK’s largest running community event, attracting over 30,000 visitors each year. The next edition will take place from 31 January to 1 February 2026 at the NEC Birmingham.
The grant is open to community groups encouraging inactive people to take up running, fostering long-term participation and promoting positive attitudes to sport among young people.
Craig Hanratty, event director for the National Running Show, said: “Local clubs are the foundation of running and rely on support to make a difference in their communities. Encouraging physical activity improves cardiovascular health, reduces stress and boosts mental wellness. Further to that, we know that grassroots running groups can foster social inclusion, develop future talent and help cultivate a lifelong love for the sport. Raccoon Media Group is a purpose driven business. With the community grant from The National Running Show we aim to give back to communities and help at a local level in the UK.”
Applications are open until 30 November 2025. Shortlisted entrants will be notified by 19 December, with winners announced at the 2026 show.
