Sustainable flooring provider, MJ’s Event Services (MJ’s), is transitioning all clients to Rewind carpet by the end of June 2025. This move follows growing industry demand for greener solutions.
Rewind, made by Beaulieu (B.I.G.) and popular in Europe, is being promoted by MJ’s to drive the UK exhibition industry towards a more sustainable flooring alternative.
Unlike traditional cord carpet, Rewind is a single-polymer product that creates high-quality polypropylene pellets when recycled, reducing the need for virgin PP.
MJ’s has removed Rewind’s primary barrier to entry by ensuring it is competitive with traditional cord, making sustainability an accessible and cost-effective choice for all clients.
Jennifer Bishopp MJ’s COO, said: “Rewind is a game-changer for the UK exhibition industry. It requires up to 85% less energy to produce and delivers a 55% reduction in CO2e compared to traditional cord carpet.”
The company’s commitment to Rewind was catalysed during a UK exhibition, where concerns about misleading sustainability messaging surrounding event carpeting were identified.
“As a responsible industry supplier, we recognised the need to challenge this misunderstanding about the sustainability of carpet through increased education and awareness. The overwhelmingly positive response from clients and event attendees to the Rewind product range further reinforced this strategic shift,” added Bishopp.
MJ’s continues to work closely with Beaulieu (B.I.G.) to support the expansion of Rewind’s adoption across the UK and Europe.
Bénédicte Lobel, business development manager of Rewind said: “At Beaulieu, we are dedicated to building a sustainable future by prioritising recyclable products and responsible resource management,We are very proud to partner with MJ’s in this mission. Together, we are committed to making events more sustainable and eliminating carpet waste.”
