Event tech company Grip has launched Outpace, an online platform of AI agents that carry out tasks for organisers.
The first product to be released as part of Outpace is called Visitor Plan, and it builds a personal show plan for each visitor on the organiser’s event website. More agents will follow in the coming weeks, covering exhibitor retention, exhibitor acquisition and event planning.
Outpace is in private beta. It works with any event platform, not just Grip’s own, and organisers run it from a single chat window in the Outpace dashboard.
Visitor Plan
A visitor enters their company and job title on the event website, and Visitor Plan picks out the sessions, speakers and exhibitors worth their time, with a reason for each one. They can then register, add the plan to their calendar, email it to themselves or ask for changes.
Organisers add the tool to their site with one line of code, and it reads the agenda, speakers and exhibitors from the website. Registration links are tagged, so organisers can see in their analytics which sign-ups came from plans. They can also add an offer to the plans of the job titles they most want at their show.
For shows that already run on Grip, Visitor Plan also draws on data from past editions to sharpen its suggestions, and plans can show which companies are attending. Grip says the next step is for a visitor’s plan to pre-fill their registration in Grip Manage and carry over into Grip Engage.
Exhibitor agents to follow
The exhibitor retention agent will send each exhibitor a summary after the show of the people they met and the leads they collected, with steps to do better next time. The organiser’s team will check every summary before it goes out. The acquisition agents will then use what the retention agent has learned to help organisers find and sign the right exhibitors for the next edition.
According to Grip’s data, engaged exhibitors are nearly three times as likely to return.
Tim Groot, CEO and founder of Grip, said: “Every organiser has a pacing report, and the job is to beat the last show’s performance. Any metric you track in that report, we want to help you outpace.”
Tim Groot added: “Events are a retention business. If you can win the right exhibitors and keep more than 80% of them year on year, growing an event gets easier.”
Outpace is self-serve, with no upfront commitment. It’s opening to organisers in stages, and they can join the waitlist at askoutpace.ai.
