Media 10’s Ideal Home Show is currently in full swing as it returns to its home at Olympia London, where it first began 107 years ago.

The show began on 20 March and will run until 6 April, with seven dedicated sections, which include: the flagship Ideal Show Homes, Ideal Home Improvements, Ideal Interiors, Ideal Gardens, Ideal Technology, Ideal Food and Housewares, as well as Ideal Shopping and Ideal Fashion & Beauty.

Giles Perry, event director said: “After five years of comfortably running Ideal Home Show at Earls Court, we’ve made our new home at Olympia London very happily with the minimum amount of fuss.

“Through a great deal of planning, including weekly site visits beginning at the start of this year, we could not be more delighted with the results so far. It’s been a genuinely collaborative project between Ideal Home and Olympia London and we look forward to that partnership continuing.”

More than 600 brands and exhibitors are currently showcasing their products and services, alongside the Gregg Wallace Seasonal Restaurant, Ideal Super Theatre and the Ideal Food and Drink Theatre.

Replicas of Number 10 and 11 Downing Street beneath the grand ornate barrelled roof of Olympia Grand in the Show Homes zone are among the highlights of the show, as well as the venue’s second largest space which has become a giant greenhouse, hosting Ideal Gardens.

“Vehicle logistics has gone well, better than ever,” added Perry, “the Voyage Control booking system means contractors can time their deliveries and it encourages everyone to think more about efficiency. In fact, one of our contractors has said this was one of the smoothest build ups they’ve ever had.”

The organiser said that early indications are that visitor numbers are strong and the Easter weekend is also expected to bring a bumper crowd of consumers to the show.

Anna Golden, commercial director at Olympia London, said: “It’s wonderful to see the whole venue transformed as a place for discovery and inspiration for the Ideal Home Show.

“It looks bigger, better and busier than ever before and we think particularly that visitors are happier with the natural daylight which Olympia benefits from. We will be working closely with Ideal Home to ensure future years of success here and to support them in their development plans as they continue to settle in.”

The Ideal Home Show is currently up for a raft of awards at next week’s Exhibition News Awards, including: Best Feature Area, Best Consumer Marketing Campaign, Best Brand Expansion, Best Consumer Show.
