Cleopatra: The Immersive Experience has won 16 industry awards in the space of a week, including nine Telly Awards and seven Eventex Awards, as immersive exhibitions continue to compete for audiences across the entertainment, culture and live events sectors.
The experience, currently running at Immerse LDN until 12 July, received the People’s Telly Gold award in the immersive and mixed reality category. The Telly Awards, founded in 1979, recognise video and digital productions, with entries judged by executives from companies including Netflix, HBO, IMAX and Adobe.
The production also collected seven Eventex Awards 2026, including gold awards for best entertainment event and best immersive technology. Other wins included categories covering cultural events, educational events, virtual reality and immersive experiences.
The exhibition is produced by MAD Artes Digitales and combines 360-degree projection, holograms, VR and free-roaming digital environments to tell the story of Cleopatra and the ancient Mediterranean world.
The experience is also running in Madrid and Hamburg, reflecting continued international demand for touring immersive productions as operators look for formats that can move between markets more easily than traditional exhibitions or large-scale theatrical productions.
Jelle de Jong, chief executive of MAD Artes Digitales, said: “We are deeply honoured by this recognition from the Telly Awards, both from the industry judges and from the audiences who voted for the People’s Telly.
“These awards represent not just the quality of the overall experience, but the dedication of every creative and technical team member who contributed to bringing Cleopatra to life.”
Creative partners on the project include Sila Sveta, which produced the immersive film and holographic installation, VR Coaster, which developed the VR and metaverse elements, and composer René Merkelbach.
