Lab Innovations, an Easyfairs show,  is the UK’s meeting place for laboratory professionals across the scientific space. On 28 March, Lab Innovations won the Best Trade Show under 5,000 SQM at the EN Awards 2025.

The judges identified that Lab Innovations had acted on feedback from exhibitors, visitors and partners to platform biotechnology and quality assurance. The judges also complimented the show’s creative marketing, in particular the Lab Matters podcast.

Nicole Hawkins, marketing manager for Lab Innovations, reflected on the show’s win: “We’re pleased that the judges recognised our efforts create a dynamic learning environment at the show, with features like the Innovation Gallery, sustainability pitches, Live Lab demonstrations and the Lab Awards supplementing our five conference theatres. There was something for everyone last year, as there will be at Lab Innovations 2025″.

Lab Innovation’s 2024 edition recorded its highest attendance figures to date with 4,786 visitors. The show also had over 200 exhibitors – 80% of those already rebooked for 2025’s event.

Simon Farnfield, event director for Lab Innovations, explained the success of the event: “It remains true that Lab Innovations is only as strong as the lab industry, because ultimately we’re defined by the immense talent, experience and goodwill of the researchers, technicians and industry professionals that gather with us each autumn.”

He added: “We’ve earned the privilege and responsibility to be trusted by the world’s top suppliers and the UK’s top scientists over the last decade.”

Lab Innovations will hope to emulate the success of 2024’s show this year. The event for 2025, taking place at the NEC Birmingham on 29-30 October, has an eclectic mix of content. Content includes Biotech and QI fora returning; the RSC Theatre will showcase robotic advances; and the Live Lab will be the location for supplier demonstrations and Q&A sessions. Furthermore, the fifth edition of the Lab Awards will also be returning to the show floor for 2025.
