The Podcast Show, which was supposed to launch last year, finally opened its doors at London’s Business Design Centre (BDC) yesterday, 25 May.

The two-day event is hosting talks from celebrities such as Gary Lineker, Fearne Cotton, Louis Theroux, Annie Mac and Jay Rayner.

Open to industry professionals, business leaders, emerging talent and fans, the event is hosting more than 350 speakers, 150 in-person panels, 120 industry brands, career advice sessions and networking opportunities.

“I said to Dominic Jones [the BDC chief executive] that this will be one of the best launches at the venue this year,” said event director Tim Etchells.

The event’s partners include Spotify, Amazon Music, Acast, BBC Sounds, Global and YouTube. Other exhibitors at the event include Audible, Dolby, Sony Music, Marshall and Stack.

The show explores every aspect of the podcasting industry, including sound design, how to get started and paid in the industry and interview top tips.

Other media industry veterans in attendance include Emily Maitlis, James O’Brien and Nihal Arthanayake, along with popular podcasts such as My Dad Wrote A Porno and The Receipts.
