Spring Fair and Autumn Fair have made multiple senior leadership appointments, including new event director roles across Spring Fair, Autumn Fair and Glee. The shows are organised by Hyve Group.
Spring Fair has appointed Fay Tranter as event director, while Matthew Mein has been appointed event director of both Autumn Fair and Glee. The changes follow continued activity across the events, with organisers reporting growth secured for upcoming editions and into 2026.
Tranter joined the organisation on 1 December. Her background includes experience across B2C and B2B events, marketing, sales and event leadership, as well as previous work in the West End theatre sector, including with Andrew Lloyd Webber. The role has been created to provide dedicated leadership for the show as it develops its experience-led marketplace model, said Spring Fair.
Matthew Mein steps into his new role after being at Hyve for over 17 years working across several of its portfolios.
Organisers report that Spring Fair is currently tracking 20% ahead year-on-year for buyer registrations. The event has also recorded a 30% increase in new brands, a 10% rise in new exhibitors and a 20% increase in international brands.
Leadership plans have also been confirmed for Autumn Fair and Glee following the colocation of the two events. While the shows will continue to operate independently with distinct sector focuses, the appointment of a single event director is intended to support closer coordination.
Both Autumn Fair and Glee are reported to be tracking 20% ahead year-on-year. Glee continues to attract exhibitors and visitors from the garden, leisure and outdoor living sectors. Combined, Autumn Fair and Glee recorded an 8% increase in buyers in 2025, and organisers state that 80% of the combined floorplan for 2026 has already been sold.
Spring Fair will take place from 1-4 February at the NEC Birmingham.
“Spring Fair has an incredible heritage and a hugely exciting future”, said Tranter. “I’m thrilled to be joining at such a pivotal moment and look forward to working with the team and the wider industry to build on its strengths, embrace innovation and continue to deliver real value for our communities.”
Matthew Mein said, “Glee and Autumn Fair together represent a huge opportunity. Bringing these communities closer will allow us to create a more connected, dynamic and impactful event experience. The growth we’re seeing now, and the strength of the 2026 pipeline, makes this an incredibly exciting time to take the next step.”
