Simon Parker takes over the reins as EN guest editor

by Stuart Wood

EN’s guest editor Ruth Carter is handing over the reins to Simon Parker, chair of the Association of Event Organisers.

Parker will be taking over guest editing duties for the next several months, writing features and conducting interviews with exhibition industry leaders.

The handover ceremony took place in the Mash Media office on Wednesday 31 March, with Carter passing the ‘baton’ over to Parker.

Incoming guest editor Simon Parker commented: “Given that EN has been essential reading for more years than I care to remember, it will be a massive honour to take up the reigns after Ruth’s stint as guest editor. I can’t think of a better time to take on this role given everything that is going on in our industry and I am really looking forward to discussing how we push forward and get this industry back firing on all cylinders.”

Outgoing guest editor Ruth Carter commented: “To say I have loved my time as guest editor at Exhibitions News would be an understatement. I have had the opportunity to talk to some of the cleverest, most interesting, challenging and driven people around at a time when we are re-emerging, reinventing and revitalising the exhibition industry.

“I am delighted to be handing on the baton to Simon Parker who is one of the best known and most experienced names in the industry and will bring a real depth of knowledge and insight as the next guest editor.”
