Olympiacos FC has unveiled a new museum at the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium in Piraeus as a central feature of its 100-year anniversary celebrations.

Led by President Evangelos Marinakis, the project represents a major investment in preserving and showcasing the legacy of Greece’s most decorated football club and one of the world’s foremost multi-sport organisations.

The initiative was delivered in collaboration with Mediapro Exhibitions, a global specialist in museum design with an extensive portfolio of sports and cultural institutions. The result is a venue designed to serve as a cultural landmark for Piraeus, offering an immersive experience that connects the club’s history to its community and global fan base.

The museum presents Olympiacos’ history through an extensive collection of exhibits, from historic jerseys and player memorabilia to an extensive display of trophies. The narrative is enriched by state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, allowing visitors to explore virtual tours of both the Rentis Training Center and the stadium.

Interactive elements such as quizzes, holographic displays, and themed games enhance the experience, offering multiple layers of engagement. These digital features provide an example of how sports museums can employ immersive media to create adaptable, replayable visitor experiences, driving both first-time visits and repeat attendance.

The design also integrates commemorative spaces, including a tribute to the Gate 7 tragedy, ensuring that pivotal moments in the club’s history, both triumphant and tragic, are preserved in public memory.

By investing in a technologically advanced, thematically rich museum, Olympiacos has created a year-round attraction that adds to the stadium’s non-matchday appeal. This aligns with a wider industry trend where sports organisations diversify their revenue streams through heritage tourism and experiential entertainment.

The Olympiacos Museum is positioned not only as a repository of history but as a dynamic cultural destination capable of hosting special exhibitions, corporate events, and educational programming.
