Northern Fashion Week (NFW) will launch at Manchester Central in July to offer a platform for fashion designers in the north of England.
NFW, organised by international fashion agency New Talent Fashion, takes place from 4-9 July, with the main events taking place from 7–9 July at Manchester Central. Offsite breakout events are scheduled earlier in the week at major northern cities including Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.
The event will champion creative emerging talent from Northern educational institutes and showcase established organisations in the fashion, creative and media landscape.
NFW will launch with catwalk shows, talks, exhibits, panels and networking events. The event aims to be accessible to all industry creatives and fashion creatives interested in the fashion business. It will work with local universities and regional educational providers to showcase students’ work during the events.
Siobhan Clare O’Donnell, founder and CEO at NFW and New Talent Fashion said: “We have a thriving and growing industry with exceptional fashion industrial innovations and inspiration talent which Northern Fashion Week aims to represent and celebrate. Creating this platform to showcase, educate, and inspire builds much-needed exposure for independent brands and new emerging talent”.
NFW will also include the Northern Fashion Week Awards, open to all across the industry with categories focused on sustainability, diversity and LGBTQI+ designers. The winners will be chosen by a hand-selected industry judging panel to be announced.
